Lieber Ben,
that is all right, don't worry please. The recent economical and political situation keeps most of us too busy to correspond on a regular basis.
Right now I am still staying at my older brother's place in the south together with Feliciano. I am not sure when we will return home, but I will make sure to message you when we do. Alternatively we could mix work with pleasure and bring our dogs to the next Euro meeting and let them play in the breaks.
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him either since last weekend's meeting. Furthermore he looked a bit more upset than usual and didn't even want to take a drink with the other nations afterwards. I hope that he is doing well.
Viele Grüße, Ludwig

Dear Ludwig,
Oh, I understand. And that sounds like a good idea! We should bring our dogs to the next meeting. I bet that they'll enjoy it!
Oh really? That seems pretty odd... He usually never turns down a drink! I really hope that he's alright!
Yours Truely,
Ben

Lieber Ben,
my apologies for the late reply. The last days have been rather... well... troublesome. First Feliciano was kidnapped picked up by his people and accompanied home and then my bosses used their first days at work after the summer break to start another fight with Switzerland's bosses. Anyway, I am back home in Berlin now and preparing the papers for the next meetings. If your time allows it we can put our plan of arranging a dog meeting into action.
I hope you received a sign of life from Lars in the meantime.
Viele Grüße, Ludwig

Dear Ludwig,
It is alright, Ludwig. I understand. It must have been a little rough for you. Hopefully things will get better. Yeah... I heard about that. Why must they always fight over taxes and banks? Well, that is good to hear. Ja. I think that we can arranging the play date with our dogs.
And sadly no... I have not heard from Lars.
Yours Truly,
Ben

Lieber Ben,
thank you, it has been a bit rough indeed lately, but I am sure that things will calm down again soon. They have been fighting about this topic ever since I can remember and it doesn't look like they would stop yet. That is good. Should we bring them to tomorrow's meeting of the European Commission in Brussels?
I am sorry to hear that.
Viele Grüße, Ludwig

Dear Ludwig,
't ass näischt, it was no problem! Oh, I understand. Oh good! That's a great idea. Peltze would sure love that!
Yeah, I hope that I could get to hear from him soon.
Yours Truly,
Ben

Lieber Ben,
sometimes I feel like I have to give my ministers the same talks over and over again about the same old topics. I can only imagine how it must feel for nations much older than myself.
How did you find our pets’ play date? Admittedly, we have to think about a solution for the time we have to attend the meeting and can’t take care of them. But generally it was nice to watch the dogs play like that, wasn’t it?
Viele Grüße, Ludwig

Dear Ludwig,
Jo. I agree with you. They tend to act like that.
Oh, I thought that it was just excellent! And, ja I do agree. But over all it was really great to see them playing and getting along! Peltze seems to like Aster a lot! Maybe we should do this again some day?
And I'm so excited! My Grand Duke's son is getting married and the wedding is in October. I can't wait.
Yours Truly,
Ben

Lieber Ben,
although I expected to hear that, it is a little disappointing that there seems to be no hope that this will ever change.
I am glad that you enjoyed it too. Aster and Peltze seem to have become good friends at first sight. After all the (usual) fighting during the meeting, seeing the dogs play like that was indeed calming.
My congratulations again on your royal wedding. I saw some pictures of the ceremony in the news reports yesterday and it seemed as if not only the bride and groom, but all your people have been happy that day. From what I saw quite some royal guests from all of Europe have attended the celebration. I hope you saw your siblings again too.
Viele Grüße, Ludwig

Dear Ludwig,
And I hear from Lars! And he is doing well. He called me.
I know! Animals especially pets do tend to have that calming effect, don't they? We should try to schedule more play dates for them in the future.
Merci! And yes, they have attended, too. Both of my siblings came! It was very great to see both of them again!
Yours Truly,
Ben
