Daniel,
Do you mind if I call you that? I hope you don't, I like that name. Its different from what I'm used to hearing around here.
That certainly is interesting, how long does that usually last? I bet green hair is an interesting sight. I've never had any color hair other than my own brown...though my sister has had hers any color she wants, drives papa mad. When he sees her with dyed hair he usually starts in about how can you dye such beautiful brown hair, it is a crime against nature!
Anyway, sorry about that tangent. How can you be a state that's southern and northern? I thought you were either one or the other? Do you visit the lake often? Sorry for all these questions, I hope I am not bothering you. That is good that you were against slavery, that was an awful practice.
Well and interesting fact about me is that I've changed Nationalities many times over the years, from French to German then back again, I'm currently a French region. It was at least four times during WW2 that I switched Nationalities, and I'm not sure how many times before that...I could look it up if you would like an exact number This is why I speak both French and German. Both Frances and Ludwig took care of me very well over the years.

Eliza,
I'll have to try to send ya pictures of my tattoos sometime soon. Those do sound painful, you sure have a lot of 'em. Mine are small though, I try to keep 'em dat way. I'm thinking of gettin' a tattoo of my motto, Land of LIncoln or da Prarie state.

Alsace,
The dye is temporary, and usually last for the re-ust of March. That's a'tually quite interesting, be-inn switched over so often. Frances used to tea-ake c're of me, then I was English territory fer a while 'til France took me back. Then, I b'came American territory. Da restaurant McDonald's started in Des Plaines, Illinois, did ya know dat?
A'tually, I have big cities in the more northern part, then the rest is a lot o' corn farms. Y'ur not bothering me. Do y'all plant anything specific? I'm known fer corn.

Illinois,
That's really cool, Is it a dark green or a bright green? I think you would look good with dark green hair.
Ja, it is very interesting, My region is easily defensible and a strategic location for both as I'm right on the border between the two. That sounds interesting, seems like France had problems with his regions being taken away. Your the only state I'm met yet, is America nice...I think that's what a lot of people call him. I didn't know that, that is interesting. We have a McDonalds here to. Is Illinois famous for anything else?
Ah, I think I understand, like how there is a northern and southern Alsace? What's it like to have that many corn fields? We have a lot of vineyards here, our farming consists of hops and what is needed for wine. We have a lot of industrial activities too and lots of tourism.

Astrid,
If I can call ya by yer name. Usu'lly bright green, last year I was sick and couldn't do et. I'll think 'bout dark green sometime maybe. Alfred, you mean? Illinois is very famous fer O'Hare airport. It's the biggest in the nation, I believe. Chicago has quite a bit of tourism as well, same with Springfield. 'Cause of the airport, I'm known fer planes, hence my tattoo. It's pretty relaxin' havin' so many corn fields, I wish we had more vines.

Daniel,
You can, as long as I can call you by yours. Bright green might look good too, I'm sure you get plenty of complements for it. I'm sorry you didn't get to do it, it stinks to miss something you look forward to because your sick. That is cool...if I may quote my bruder, it is Awesome....that sounds weird coming from me...That is cool, what are some of the attractions around there? You have a tattoo of a plane? If I may ask, where is it? Ja, Alfred, I didn't know that was his name. I haven't heard very much about him. It is important to relax, no need to stress yourself out to the point of exhaustion. It is a lot of work, these vineyards, though they do produce excellent grapes for wine. We have some award-winning wines here, papa is very proud.

Astrid,
Usu'lly, people are pretty jealous, and I get some compliments, you're correct. Hahahah, y'all can say it, doesn't sound odd coming from you. Well, in Chicago I have Navy Pier, then Lincoln's old house, plus the museums in my capitol Springfield. What are attractions in Alsace? Really? I'd love ta try some of yer wine, if that's alright.

Daniel,
That tells me that you having bright green hair makes you look attractive. not that you aren't attractive with brown hair. I guess it just sounds odd to me since I don't normally say it. That all sounds very interesting, from what little I know, Lincoln sounds like a great man, he did many great things. I bet those museums are interesting, I like museums. Well, here we have our vineyards and our wineries. There are also a lot of castles, and museums and if you like nature, there are also natural parks and waterways to visit. Of course its alright, just let me find a good year and I'll send one to you with my next letter.

Astrid,
Aye, it happens like that when you don't normally say things, I get what yer saying. Castles? I'd love to see some castles!! Aye I'm sorry, but I do enjoy things like that. We don't have anything like that in Illinois really. Natural parks? I have those, but often people go to Indiana fer that sort of thing. Deep down, I love nature, it's really much more of a soft spot o' mine. I have a lot of Irish heritage, and I love green, so why not be proud of it? I think you look good with your brown hair, and I personally like my brown hair better, but I like a little change every now and then.
