Based on the poem by George Ella Lyon
It's in first person about America, but it's not really a story. Just a poem in tribute to those who died.
Sorry if I make anyone angry.. (stupid low-self esteem.. it kicks in at the worst of times..)
..ooOO0OOoo..
I am from cities, from airplanes and ash. From the sacrifices, the ones who gave their lives for me. The ones who died for me.
That day.
I am from wars, from arguments and oil. From the man who nurtured and protected me. The one I left on the battlefield, so many years ago.
That morning.
I am from Al-Qaeda, from corruption and politics. From the children who lost their parents, and governmental illusions. I am from chaos.
That agony.
I am from rebuilding what has been lost. from helping those recover. The ones who lost everything, with the swipe of a paintbrush. I am from hope.
That helplessness.
I am from the anguish, from the hatred and animosity. From the malice and Mosques, the sudden hostility for another race. I am from racism.
That confusion.
I am from the land of the free. But why do we still hate and suppress? Or cover what needs to be shown? Or kill out brothers and sisters? I am from questions. ..ooOO0OOoo..
Interpret as you will, I'd be interested in your thoughts. Sorry America or New York if this is not to your liking...

oh texas this is perfect! i love it! its all... uh- deep and stuff! wait.. sorry, *gets out of character*
I like this, even though I'm not into poetry like that. Yeah, were supposed to the land of the free, but we hide secrets and lie, and are judged by our race. And were supposed to be the hime of the brave (i think thats the order it goes in lol) but why would we bomb iraq over a building? think it was pretty sad cause people died and all, but was there really proof? and it wouldnt make any sense to bomb and go to war with an entire country because of the actions of a few people anyway, just trying to kill them cause were scared their competion or whatver. Makes me kinda pissed. But i again i loved it, and America thinks so too!

Gracias, it's fine... Texas doesn't seem like the type to write this sort of stuff so out of charecter is perfectly fine. XD
I'm not much of a poetry person either. But sometimes I go on random swings where I write a bunch of random cracky stuff..
But thanks, I agree with what you said. Bombing isn't good no matter what.

your welcome haha, yeah, but still! actually, i rp like SOLEY america for every website, and almost 24/7 so sometimes i get stuck in character and talk like him in real life subconsciesly, its so annoying XD
yeah, it seems really big, like a tantrum over a heart attack...? besides, lots of innocent ppl get hurt, even our own, so what the hecks the point? and we have allies that are there too, so its kinda like getting others involved. and then, what if we accidently hit some random country, or they say we hit some random country thats strong too, or has spies or something, and we drag the other countries in and then we have like, world war 3!?!? (<see whatti mean?)

Really? I wind up jumping around from Texas to Florence to England. Those are my main three. But I get your point, I might be Texan but I don't have an accent unless I've been rping as Texas for a while and then I'll start using slang like "y'all" or "Ain't". XD
I dunno, it was a couple attack simulaneously, and 3,000 people died so I understand the anger that everyone felt. But not only did they take it out on Al Quaeda but the entire country was blamed and then attacked. And then we hated on Muslims, and still do.

yeah, but americas my best, and ppl always ask me to rp as america, or i do because there isnt one. haha, your really from texas?
yeah, we hate on them for like no reason, they arent all like that obviously. and everytime i hear about it, it makes me just confused, because if there were so many people on the plane, why would they fear one person (or idk how many) with one box cutter? im younger than them and ive been nearly stabbed before but fought anyway. if there were so many, they could have done something, instead of having to go to war later, but still, i wasnt there, so i dont really know

Si. I am a home-grown organic Texan. Born and raised. (luckily not on a ranch.)
True, but if you widen perspectives it down were not all diffrent. A lot of us have the same views we just won't say them because it would be 'going against the heard'.

awesome. i almost went to texas, but it was too hot, i really wanted to go (never left california)
i know. alot of people i know are the same, its really annying. they seem like the would disagree with the war, but when i try to persuade them to talk about it, they just clam and say 'but were american' or something along those lines, you know what i mean?

Ha, that choice was for the better. It was 113 a few weeks ago. (115 in other places)
Excuses are dumb. Yet people still wind up using them everywhere.

Well, limited room on a plane, the fact of what fear does to the human body... but true. I guess.

How could you hate water?! It's the most amazing thing in the world~!
.. I don't know what kind of box cutters you guys have. But here you can kill someone with a boxcutter.

its gross.
we have boxcutters like anyone else. but, seriously, the blade is small. you can kill someone with anything if you try, but like i said, a plane full of people vs a boxcutter. from what i head they didnt even try. (no offense, as its a sensitive topic to some people)
