Daniel,
Ja, I usuallly just leave it to him to say something is awesome...seems to be his phrase...that and his yelling five meters! *sighs* What can you do about bruders though. Its ok, we have quite a few castles and other fortifications that you might like to see then at some point. If you would like, I could also take you to see the portions that aren't usually shown to the public. Why would they go to Indiana over Illinois to see the natural parks. If you love nature I'm sure they are beautiful, how could someone who didn't love nature not take excellent care of his parks. I would gladly see your parks of Indiana's. It is good to be proud over your heritage, never back down about that. Thank you, its not very often I get complements about it. I understand about change, and it is nice to change things up so you don't get sick of it, though the shade of brown that you have is different than I'm use to seeing so I don't see how one could get sick of it, I know I wouldn't.
I found a bottle I hope you will like, it is a white wine. Its name is Riesling du monde, with a 2007 date. I hope you don't mind that it has overtones of a fruity taste. It should be arriving soon after this letter in a box marked fragile. Astrid

Danny,
Same goes for me, pal~you're accent is alright. I've talk to people with accents a lot, just your dialect took a litte bit to understand. It's fine, don't try to change it for my sake. Uh, si, yeah, cute. I've got myself a really thick Latino accent, but other than that, not too sure. (I only really show it if I'm talking in person).

Dear Astrid, Everybody has a c'tain way they speak or what they say, ya know? I'd love to seem some castles, 'sidering that I haven't in a real long time. I love archetecture! So private places, too? That would be soo great! Well, Indiana is known for 'em being closer to Chicago so people go there to get to a park, while the rest of mine are a bit down south... Aye, uh, really? You'd like to see my natural parks?? Aye umm, anytime!! Ah hehehe. Really? You're so generous! Here, I can't be sent something without returning the favor. Attatched is a postcard from Chicago. - Daniel p.s I hope ya like the card

Dear Daniel,
Oui, I do. And hearing your accent is a nice refresher from hearing the German and French I hear all the time. If you would like, I can send you a list of castle that we have and you can choose one to visit at some time. The architecture is très magnifique. I'm sure you would love it. Ja, there are places we don't allow the public usually because of various reasons. Mainly the towers and some of the rooms in the dungeons and that. I don't see what that has to do with anything, what does the closeness of a city pertain to the parks. I'm sure your parks are just as beautiful, if not more so than Indiana's. I love nature and I would love to see them.
I think you for the postcard. I love it. Chicago can be a beautiful place, or at least the postcard makes it seem so. Do you live there?

Dear Astrid,
My accent? Aye, haa, some people are hard on hearing it. It's where all the accents go and blend, in Illinois. I mean I have old buildin's, but not castles! I do have some very large buildings, the Sear's tower that's now called the Willis Tower which upset a lot of my people with the changin' of the name was at one point the tallest building in the nation. I do believe I would enjoy the architecture. Thanks fer the choices, I'll look through 'em real soon and pick one that looks/sounds interesting. Ehh, in the states people are pretty rushing people who don't really get time to sit down and relax, so American's tend to go on vacation or to see something at a closer place so they can be home right away. Maybe even better? Well, I wish people would come check mine out some more. So you say you have secrets that the public don't know, huh? Does the public include other countries or..states?!? Nature is one of my secret things I love, but there are a lot of things people don't know. I sometimes have multiple personalities, but in a way that I enjoy a lot of different things.
Did you know that Chicago has one of the most beautiful skylines in the world? At least, that's what I've been told. I live in Springfield, but I visit Chicago way often. Us'lly to fly some airplanes, another thing I like to do, but my capitol is Springfield, so that's where my heart is. If you'd like, we can see the skyline at night sometime in downtown Chicago. It's quite breathtaking. Maybe we can plan some trips.

Mia,
My accent gets a bit confusin' considerin' it's a southern and northern accent kinda mixed. The Chicago accent is a lot of slang and so is places like Springfield, just accents in different ways and similar ways... Aye I don't know, it gets complicated. Thick and latino, huh? Wouldn't have really guessed, but it would be interesting ta hear.

Daniel,
Ja, I like it. I guess Illinois has lots of accents then? Old buildings can be just as cool as castles. The Sear's tower...I think I've heard of that before. I didn't know they renamed it. If its the second one, what's the first now? I believe some people call the architecture gothic...but that doesn't seem like the right word. I'll think of it eventually. Hmm, I think I prefer the French way then. We do not rush anywhere. That is a shame though, I feel like though they should take the time to appreciate nature's beauty. What does it matter if they cannot get home right away? Who doesn't have secrets that others don't know? Loving nature is one of your secrets? I like that secret. I love animals. I'll often put out food for some of the strays that run around the town. I love animals. Maybe one of these days we can get to know each other better? I don't see how liking different things could be a multiple personality...it is perfectly alright to like multiple things.
Nein, I didn't know that. Is Springfield far from Chicago? I think I would like to see you fly, I've never been flying before. I think I would like to see the skyline at night in downtown Chicago, from the way you tell of it, it sounds beautiful. If you heart is Springfield, my heart is Colmar. That is the capital, but it also might be Strasbourg, as it is often considered the economic capital. It really depends on which way you look at it.
As for the castles, there is The Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle,The Castle of Hohlandsbourg, The Castle of Fleckenstein, The Castle of Lichtenberg...actually, there are too many to name.... I'll just list those. Hmm, well, they are all wonderful. If you would like a description I could send you them in the next letter. This one is getting pretty long, I don't write this long of a letter.

Astrid,
I believe that many of your castles oughtta be beautiful, considerin' they're coming from you. Different personalities which you would never guess what are some of my secrets. Yes, flying is a big part in my state. Springfield is the capital, but when people think of Illinois, they often think of Chicago. Chicago is home to a large and famous, important airport, and the skyline. *nods* Maybe sometime soon I can take a plane over to Alsace and we can tour a castle, and then take you in it, if you would like, back to the states. Then I can show you a few things about my state. I'd love to learn more about you, you're quite the mysterious person when it comes to opening up, or so it might seem. I even have a tattoo of an airplane and of the Sears tower. Gothic? Aye, that'd be the first time I heard that term. It is really the sign that you're downtown, when you see the building that goes into the clouds... I can get pretty into it sometimes. The only thing is that you can't see all the stars when you're in or around the city. That's why I love the country. How about you, Astrid? Can you see all the stars? I think they're quite amazing.
